Senior IT/ERP Consultant Required

Following continued expansion of our business in 2008, we require additional staff. Most particularly we are looking for a senior IT implementor with relevant experience. This role has the potential to quickly become the practice lead for client projects. We are very anxious to hear from candidates who will benefit from our Bray location, reducing daily travel time contributing to improved work life balance.

The Senior Software Implementation Engineer/Project Manager will be responsible for the installation of bespoke software systems which are used by a variety of manufacturing companies to increase production and output while reducing cost. The Senior Software Implementation Engineer/Project Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating, planning and scheduling the software implementation project as well as managing project budgets and ensuring that technical requirements are delivered. This position would suit a self-starter who enjoys being involved in all stages of the project life-cycle. The role also requires understanding of supply chain logistics, production environments and a good grasp of accounting.

This position may suit someone living locally who is tired of commuting to work.

The Ideal Candidate:

Will have a Degree in IT/Business or an equivalent qualification.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position.
Excellent organisational and planning skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines, delivering projects within budget and to agreed specifications.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions “on the fly”.
A background in finance, forecasting or manufacturing is essential.
Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English.
A full clean driving licence.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively both in Ireland and Overseas.

Duties & Responsibilities of role:

Reporting directly to the Company Principle.
Visit customers and business owners on-site to determine technical requirements and specifications.
Develop project plans for each system installation to include resources (people, hardware and software), project schedule, logistics, training plans, budgets etc.
Test software prior to installation, correct software bugs and write code.
Manage and drive all system installation projects to ensure that they are delivered on time and within budget.
Deliver on-site systems training to MXI Software customers and their staff.
Provide regular progress reports to all relevant stakeholders.
Provide ongoing technical support to MXI Software customers via e-mail and/or telephone.
Investigate and resolve reported customer problems and issues within the required time-frame, using remote support tools if necessary.
Keep up-to-date with new technologies by attending training courses and seminars as required.
Working with Pre-Sales opportunities on demonstrations etc.

Technical Skills Required:

Solid knowledge of SQL Server 2000 and 2005 administrative features – Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Express, Data Transformation Services.
Strong knowledge of databases - structure, table linking, table relationships, primary keys, etc.
Programming skills (VB, VBA, or VB script) are essential. XML and/or basic JavaScript an advantage.
Proficiency in windows server and client products.
